Panic disorder treatment now has a new technique. Patients and sufferers of panic attack no longer have to experience the horrifying feelings that come along with a panic attack. Now, it can be possible through the use of many techniques and medication available in the market today. In fact, there are some e-books present that guide you how to effectively stop and prevent panic attacks.

What is a panic attack?

If you want to treat panic attack effectively, know what it the disorder is all about first. A panic attack occurs when an individual goes into a panic episode that usually begins abruptly and without warning, peaks in about 10 minutes, and lasts for about a few minutes, a half hour, or even longer. This is considered as a very disabling condition since it prevents the suffering individual from participating in normal events. It could even lead to avoidance of activities associated with feelings of panic in the past.

What are the symptoms of a panic attack?

It’s easy to spot panic attack. Panic attacks are usually characterized by a racing heart, dizzy spells, sweating, trembling, tightness of throat and chest, shortness of breath, nausea, trouble swallowing, hot flashes and dizziness.

Why should you get a panic disorder treatment?

Life is short. It’s very important if you want to enjoy life. If you have experienced a panic attack, then you know how it can be very disabling for you. You won’t get to participate in normal activities that stress you, such as driving, going to job interviews, and such. Your life and enjoyment could be put on hold because of your recurring panic attacks.

Recommended Treatment

There are now various techniques and methods to treat panic attack. In fact, there is a new technique that promises results without ever having to rely on outdated anxiety techniques like ‘deep breathing’ and ‘positive affirmations’. The technique only takes seconds to implement, and you can do it anytime, anywhere and wherever you want. It does not use hypnosis, and it does not let you follow complicated 30 step programs that bring about only minor improvements. These techniques are usually available in e-books online, and if you want to try out this new technique, then consider getting an e-book about this.

Breaking the Panic Disorder Pattern

It’s also important to know how it occurs. Usually, just the forethought of having a panic attack is enough to start a wave cycle of anxiety. As a matter of fact, its foundation is already laid down way before you experience the outward signs and symptoms. And with the foundations laid down, even the slightest stimulus can trigger and launch the panic attack into full blown motion.

The sooner the attack is treated, the better. If you stop fearing a panic attack, then most definitely, you will learn to get rid of the disorder.

Stop obsessive worrying. Now, you don’t have to foster unwanted thoughts and overwhelming fears that something dreadful is going to happen. You can break free from this disease if you choose too. Remember, you are not alone. And if you want to enjoy life’s pleasures as it is, get treatment now.

Have you ever wanted to learn self hypnosis? Believe it or not, you dont need to have a collection of books, audio tapes, dvd’s or a professional hypnotist to learn, you dont even need a spiritual guru. All you need to do is learn a few simple techinques.

Putting into practice a few simple techniques to bring yourself to a state of deep relaxation can be very easy and rewarding. The most important thing is to find a place that offers complete comfort and quiet. The last thing you need once reaching a state of deep relaxtion is to be disturbed part way through.

Now you need to learn how to completely relax your muscles and whether sitting or laying down is better for you. You will also need to learn what to do when you are in a subconscious state.

Going Under

Reaching a subconscious state can often be referred to as “going under”. Generally this means that the conscious mind is “asleep” and the subconscious mind is more accessible. You will be able to achieve this yourself after learning some basic self hypnosis techniques.

Various people will use various techniques to put themselves under, so it is best to try a variety and then use which is best for you. You could even dicover your own technique.

Find a comfortable space where you will not be disturbed for quite a long period of time. When first attempting self hypnosis dont be discouraged if it takes you more than an hour to officially “go under”. Make sure you chose a place with complete quiet and where you feel most at ease. Remember to turn off phones and other things that may disturb you. Full concentration will be needed to focus on the self hypnosis techniques.

Concentrate on your breathing, feel the air as it enters and then leaves your body. Relax all your muscles and clear your mind of all thoughts. You will find yourself deeply relaxed. This can only be described as sleeping without being asleep. Once you have reached this state, you can do anything you want.

Some people use a self hypnosis script to cause themselves to relax, and also to give themselves instructions and suggestions once their under. This script can include mantras on quitting smoking, losing weight, remembering more things, becoming a stronger person, or anything else you think you need to become a better person.

It is your own personal preference as to what goals you wish to achieve with self hypnosis. It may be for self improvement, it could just as easily be simply a way to relax from the stresses of day to day life. Only you will know what you want and need. With enough practise, you will soon become a master at self hypnosis.

by Juan Franco

The suggestions that follow may seem trivial but they they have the distinction of working almost every time they are tried. They address the central reason why some schools do much better than others even when all other factors are equal. It is all to easy when planning a new fundraiser to focus on the things that don’t matter. Here are five of the right things to you should focus on.

Below you will find four things that a school or group can do that will greatly affect how much money is raised with their new fundraiser:

Step #1 - Profit Percentage Does Not Lead to More Profits.

A company offering 80% profit on it’s goods vs a company offering a 20% profit margin is not necessarily better for a school. One thing people often overlook is that banks do not accept deposits of percentage. Every bank I know of accepts only money. Profit percentage is the thing that many decision makers look at first when it comes time to pick what they are going to do for their new fundraiser. What I am saying here does not mean profit percentage is not important, but it should not be the school’s first and only priority when choosing their next new and unique fundraiser. It should be the school’s number one goal to raise the maximum profit possible with the least amount of hassles!

Step #2 - The Product You Sell Does Make a Difference (But Not As Much As You Might Think) Coming up with the right product for your new fundraiser does make a difference, however, it is not the most important factor in having a successful fundraiser. You have probably seen this in your own neighborhood, how two schools decide to sell cookie dough and they both sell them at the same time and the same price. But the difference in their results (Profits) were HUGE! Because of this, you could come to the conclusion that it is not the product which made the difference. So what is it that makes the huge difference? Hint, see Step #4!

Step #3 - Time Your Fundraiser as Early In the School Year as Possible

When you kickoff your fundraiser is a very important aspect of it’s success. It is an undisputed fact that the first school who’s sales brochure goes into an office or neighborhood has higher sales than the one that comes last. However, timing is not the #1 reason why schools have successful fundraisers. Hint, see Step #4!

Step #4- How the fundraiser is Run is the Number One Factor in it’s Success.

Program Management is the element that makes all the difference in having a successful fundraiser. You as a fundraising chairperson may know that “How” the school fundraiser is run is critical to it’s success, but the main problem is not many fundraising companies train the sponsors in how to run their sale the right way. On top of that, it is very simple to do.

Follow These Simple Guidelines of Program Management to Get The Most Out of Your Sale.

A) Setting Goals for the School

B) A Memorable Kick Off

C) Maintaining Excitement for the Duration of the Sale

D) Find Good Volunteers

E) Motivate the Students/Sellers Like There Is No Tomorrow

F) Motivating the Teachers and Staff members to Promote the Sale.

To maximize the results on a new fundraiser the students/sellers must be motivated to participate in a way that they have not been before. You can provide motivation not only to the students but to the teachers as well.

The main reason why one school will make $8,000 while another similar school will make $15,000, is in what they did with their prizes for students and for the teachers!

We at AIM have a saying “Students could sell $5 bills for $10.00 and do real well if you motivate them good enough.” The most important part of your fundraiser will be to provide incentives that truly motivate your students and teachers to participate in your sale like they have never done before! A school that typically has a 25% participation rate will more than double with only a 15% increase in participation. Increasing participation by 15% is not a hard thing to do.

by Honey Krumholz

Your classroom layout, displays and decorations are important to help motivate and stimulate your students. A classroom that is comfortable, friendly and colourful, creates a very positive learning and social environment for your students.

Read this article and you will learn about my suggestions for designing and decorating your classroom. I have split up my discussion into 4 key topics; classroom layout, classroom decorations, classroom bulletin boards and classroom displays. They have worked for me and I’m sure they will work for you.

1. Classroom Layout — One of your main considerations when designing the layout of your classroom is the classroom seating arrangement. I always organized the students’ desks in groups of 4 to 6. I found that this promoted a healthy interaction between students for doing group work. In life, one must learn to communicate and work together with others. When I wanted to give my students more focused attention, it was easy for me to work with them using this grouping arrangement.

Every 6 to 8 weeks I would reorganize the groups and move students around. The main benefit of this is that every student eventually sits with every other student in my class. They all get to know and learn about each other and develop new friendships. I allowed the students to make up their own seating arrangements and then I would finalize it.

2. Classroom Decorations were always very important to me! I always wanted my classroom to be a fun and welcoming place for students, parents and other visitors. I used various classroom decorations throughout the year depending upon the season; for example, Halloween displays in October, Christmas displays in December, Valentine’s Day in February and on it goes.

It is important that students play an important part in decorating the classroom. When students feel ownership, it motivates them and creates a positive learning environment. Encourage students to suggest their classroom decorating ideas. It’s all part of the learning process.

3. Using your classroom’s bulletin board displays is another excellent method for motivating and building your students’ self-esteem. Most students will try harder at producing better quality work if they know it will be displayed for their fellow students, parents and visitors to see.

Use your classroom bulletin boards to display the various topics that your students are studying. For instance, you can exhibit students’ science projects, art work, short stories or information and pictures about a unit; for example, rock and minerals, pioneers, etc. As I mentioned before, be sure to let your students help with the bulletin board displays.

4. Classroom Displays are another way to make your classroom a stimulating and motivating environment in which to learn! Without making the classroom too busy and claustrophobic, try to utilize all areas of the room. Some suggestions - hang displays (for example, planets) from the ceiling (if you have permission), use a rope or clothes line in one part of the room to hang students’ art, and display posters on your classroom door. (I liked to display posters that had a positive or motivational message). Use various classroom displays and make your class the place to be.

I hope that you will find the tips that I have briefly described here very useful. Just use your imagination and I’m sure these suggestions will work for you as they have for me. You’ll notice the difference!

by Brad Morgan

You started out with the uncomplicated verb conjugations and noun recognitions and from there went along to being able to read, write and read complete sentences.

From their, the journey took you from complete sentences to paragraphs and then to pages and finally to entire works of literature, English and fiction.

There is no reason to stop there. You can build on your basic skills with advanced English lessons.

English is spoken throughout the world; advancing your knowledge of the language will benefit you because you will be able to communicate with those around you and abroad. You will also have access to scores of literary works that you may never have read or understood before.

English lessons for advanced students are quite a bit different from the average English lessons.

When studying advanced English, readings of a highly technical nature can be expected as well as speaking constantly within the language (also known as immersion).

Advanced writing is also required. You can expect to write essays and papers on a variety of subjects.

Dialects might also be something taught in the process, because while English is a global language, it is not spoken in the same way throughout the world.

It is spoken in different ways and part of being a good English speaker is to understand and appreciate those differences; this is often part of what advanced English lessons are all about.

In your basic English classes, you probably focused on parts of speech, sentence structure, phrasing, and more. In your advanced English lessons, you will be reading at a much more complex level within various genres of fiction and nonfiction. You will also be expected to write detailed reports at a high level of competency.

It is important that you learn to understand long, complex terms. This is why the use of scientific articles and topics is so common in advanced English classes. Advanced English lessons also make use of the writings of Shakespeare to help you learn to comprehend and interpret English writing.

If you want to supplement your advanced English lessons or learn on your own, you can use the internet as a learning tool. Websites offer a rich variety of topics and use the language in different ways. Reading authors like William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens is also another good way to practice your advanced English skills.

Working on your own is valuable, but it is also beneficial to have a schedule and study plan and a good teacher who can correct, help, and encourage you. Structured advanced English lessons can help you master the English language.

The mind has its own source of power which is unlimited and one can tap into that power through mind dynamics. You should never underestimate just what your mind is capable of as this great strength if used properly can work wonders in your life. Through using the power a person is able to bring about some dynamic changes to their life.

The mind is divided into two sections, the conscious and subconscious. Most of the time we are unaware of what is happening in relation to our subconscious mind. Yet it is the subconscious one which is much larger and more active than the conscious one is.

Using mind dynamics one begins to understand the subconscious mind and the ways it can be used to bring about changes in one’s life. There are various techniques which one needs to learn that will help to unlock the doors to your subconscious mind and discover its power.

Through becoming familiar with the thoughts of your subconscious mind you can then begin to recognize the flaws that make up your life. Although using self analysis will sometimes show results that are a little odd, these will in turn help you to look at your life in a completely different way.

It is mind dynamics which help you to control your fears, anxiety and any other negative emotions you may have. By just applying a few basics of mind dynamics in to your life, you will then be able to make better decisions, which in turn will help you decide what your destiny is to be.

Through mind dynamics a person can develop a positive attitude that will prove very advantageous to all aspects of their life, be it in their career or in relationships. They achieve a sense of well being which helps to turn dreams they have into a reality. Plus it they have a new feeling of happiness and peace within themselves that makes them feel more secure with who they are.

There are many techniques used in the process of mind dynamics, including hypnosis. In order to obtain the best results a person needs to fill their life with positive feelings and learn to deal with all situations as optimistically as possible.

It is through mind dynamics one is able to make improvements in all areas of one’s life. The world we live in today is one that does not provide us with time to reflect on our own desires and secrets. However, using mind dynamics one can make time for oneself and turn something from the impossible into the possible.

by Honey Krumholz

Effective communication between teacher and parents is key to building a strong teacher parent relationship, which is a critical element in a student’s development. Parents can (hopefully) be your most powerful and valuable allies.

Whether you’re a new teacher, or a teacher with only a few years of experience or even one with many years of experience, I’m sure that you will find these 5 parent teacher communication strategies very useful in building a strong relationship with your students’ parents. I know I did.

1. All teachers must go through the parent teacher interview (conference) process a few times a year and for many, these can be a difficult experience. Here are several of my suggestions to help you through it:

* Put parents at ease by establishing a pleasant and friendly rapport with them; they may be just as nervous as you are.

* At the parent teacher conference, show your professionalism by being well prepared, organized, considerate, respectful and thoughtful. Be sure to have all the work that the student has produced (portfolio), easily accessible for discussion and review.

* Be on schedule (as much as you can, within your control). Be aware of the time limits for each conference, and if necessary, schedule another meeting with the parents.

* Remember to end the meeting in a positive way; for example, reinforcing the goal to work together toward their child’s success.

2. Parents want to be kept up-to-date on what their child is doing in school and the progress he or she is making. Classroom newsletters are an excellent way of communicating this information to parents. The first newsletter at the start of the school year would come from me, but each month after a class discussion, my students would compose their own newsletter, writing about some of the things they had done during the past month. An added benefit was that parents were able to see how their child was advancing with their communication and writing skills month after month.

3. Please realize that student agendas are a MUST HAVE, no exceptions. By incorporating student agendas into your classroom procedures , you will make students, parents and even yourself accountable. During the day, have each student record whatever they need to remember to do the following day, homework, upcoming tests, etc. Student agendas also allow you to communicate with parents on a daily basis, sending short messages back and forth. Ask parents to sign them every night and there will be no excuses.

4. Report cards, no teacher likes doing them, but they give both students and parents an overview of the student’s continued academic, personal and behavioral progress in a term, hopefully displaying steady improvement throughout the year. Write you report card comments in simple terms, putting a positive spin on any negative comments, i.e. be tactful and encouraging.

5. Both phone and email are obvious and good options if and when the need arises to contact parents quickly. If you’re not getting a proper response from parents through the student’s agenda and before an issue

When phoning a student’s parents there are several things to keep in mind. Get some background on the student to see if he/she has experienced a similar situation previously with other teachers in the school. Know what you’re going to say and limit the discussion to only one or two issues ending the call on a positive note. Keep notes on the call, and arrange to speak again to follow up on the results.

Email may be a second option for getting am important message through to parents in a very timely fashion; for example to set up a parent teacher conference. Although it’s a more informal method and does not provide continuous back and forth dialogue between teacher and parents, it does have its advantages in that it’s less confrontational and a good method for contacting parents when both may be at work and unavailable.

I hope you will use the suggestions and tips that I have briefly described here. I’m sure that you will find them very useful as I have throughout my teaching career.

While we hear accounts of more than 4000 US soldiers killed in the Iraq war to date, the number of returning veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) numbers in the tens of thousands. A result of the constant conflict, anxiety, and daily threats of death PTSD has been referred to in many ways: Shell shock, combat fatigue, and battle fatigue. Post-Vietnam syndrome is the expression that was used as a result of the Vietnam conflict.

The US National Institutes of Mental Health alert us to the characteristics of PTSD. These include a sustained and disruptive set of feelings that occur after a particularly traumatic event. These unpleasant episodes recur at frequent intervals.

Imagine having to replay day after day terrifying and disturbing scenes. Some people don’t realise that they have PTSD until they start to have nightmares at night and cannot sleep and feel refresh the next day. When they go to work feeling tired and irritable, their concentration is negatively affected and their work productivity is interfered with dramatically.

The constant worries mean that relationships suffer as the person experiencing PTSD pulls away from loved ones. Some suffer guilt that they returned from the war - and that their comrades did not. Emotions are volatile, some people becoming very edgy and short-tempered.

From a neurological point of view, PTSD causes significant problems in terms of our ability to focus and maintain attention in an effective way. The major reason is that the individual experiencing PTSD is so emotionally preoccupied that there is limited reasoning capacity. In a sense, the brain is so flooded with negative emotions that it is almost impossible to be an effective problem solver.

If you knew how many people experienced PTSD, you would be amazed. Something in the order of 8% of people in the US experience stress at a level and for a length of time that can be extremely dysfunctional. And stress and PTSD do not respect gender or race.

Despite the high figures of stress and PTSD, many people are able to cope with their daily lives and manage stress effectively. They have learned effective strategies to reduce stress by identifying the stressors and finding ways to understand and alleviate the tension and anxiety. The problem is, of course, if people cannot manage stress effectively it will impact negatively many areas of their life.

If you’re feeling stress at this moment, this is probably normal. You know that each day brings different challenges and opportunities for you. If you manage these challenges well you will have relatively low levels of stress. If you let the stress overwhelm you, you will have unpleasant consequences.

Managing stress is one of the most important things we need to learn in a modern complex life. Understanding tension, anxiety, stressors and a range of emotional pressures gives us the tools to be able to unlock and deal with stress disorders. And when we have sound information and know effective stress management strategies we can maintain a steady and stable personality and keep the support of our loved ones.

If I were to be asked the first step in learning to manage stress effectively, I would say that having sound information about this disorder is essential. Then I would add that an individual who wants to manage and reduce stress must understand and implement practical stress management strategies. Many people use inappropriate or ineffective strategies and as a result are unable to reduce their stress and lead significantly more troubled lives than they should.
